It's Upper Body Day

How to Remain Healthy While Staying Home

With changes occurring in the world right now, many of us are spending more time in our houses. It can feel difficult to stick with a healthy lifestyle when your gym in Andover is closed.

You might have changed into the teacher, home cook, and parent in your home. Perhaps you are working from home for a time and hoping to establish some normalcy in your day.

Throughout these changing times, it can be tempting to devote more time to the couch, staring at the news and mindless shows, and likely losing your day-to-day workout routine. We may be passing more time at home, but we can always focus on ways to preserve a healthy routine! We’ve shared our top effective practices you can integrate into your new everyday routine to stay active, promote your immune system, and maintain momentum toward attaining your wellness goals.

Integrate Home Workouts

One positive aspect of spending more time at home is the added space in your day-to-day schedule. Think about your schedule. Where can you find just a few minutes for a short workout? A useful sweat session doesn’t need to go for hours to make a difference. As long as your heart rate escalates, you will find fat and calorie-burning advantages! Try our 12-minute home fitness class you can do anytime, anywhere!

Involve Your Kids in Your Workout

The pools may not be open, but there are still a variety of ways to add fun activities your kiddos will like. At the end of the day, remaining active isn’t just for parents! Here are some of our top fun (and free!) ways the entire family can get together:

  • Take a nice, long walk
  • Play frisbee out of your house in the sunshine (hello Vitamin D!)
  • Break for a bike ride or roller skate expedition
  • Design a floral arrangement with your outdoor flowers
  • Play ball in the yard
  • Find your sidewalk chalk and create a driveway work of art
  • Have a dinner cooking match up
  • Switch on the tunes and have a dance competition

Make Healthy Meals

Are you doing your best to stay away from shopping for groceries? That’s just fine! This is the time to make new things in the kitchen and mix in your family’s canned goods and frozen foods. With the children at home, full days at work, and almost endless household chores, keep your meals easy during summertime.

At FXB, we make good nutrition uncomplicated for our members. Snag your favorite protein type from the freezer, pick a carb for your side, and add some healthy fat. And there you have it: a healthy meal without the fuss. (And if it’s your fun day, pick up a pizza and relax!)
